Loneliness
Today was another day I spent alone in My Appartment, reading for my dissertation. I hate working alone. Being alone for the whole day. Being alone in the afternoon. Being alone in the evening.
I didn't call a friend because at 5 pm I was so upset about being alone that I didn't want to see anyone.

I often have this problem. Is there a cafe you can go work at, so you're at least around other people?
Sometimes I wish I had that problem. I think I'm a loner at heart and I don't have the solitary that I need presently.
Though, it sounds like you have too much alone time. What about the library or a bookstore?
I like to work at cafes, too. just like the noise and seeing other folks.
I have felt exactly the same way, though I'm not in academia.
